What is a Samosa? đ¤
A samosa is:
- âA triangle-shaped pastry
- âFilled with spiced potatoes and peas
- âDeep-fried until crispy and golden
- âEaten as a snack or with chai

- âThey've been eaten for over 1000 years!
- âThey traveled along the Silk Road
- âNow they're loved in Pakistan and around the world!

Samosas are deep-fried, which requires adult supervision!
Kids can help with:
- âMashing potatoes
- âMixing the filling
- âFolding the samosas (the fun part!)
Adults should handle:
- âFrying
- âUsing the stove
Filling Ingredients đ
- â3 potatoes, boiled and mashed
- â1/2 cup peas
- â1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- â1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- âSalt to taste
- âFresh coriander (optional)
- â1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
Making the Filling đĽ
Step 1: Prepare Potatoes
- âAsk adult to boil potatoes
- âPeel when cool
- âMash with a fork (you can do this!)
Step 2: Mix Everything
- âAdd peas to mashed potatoes
- âAdd all the spices
- âMix well with your hands
- âTaste and add salt if needed
Step 3: Make Balls
- âTake small amounts of filling
- âRoll into balls
- âSet aside for folding
The Triangle Fold! đ
This is the tricky part - practice makes perfect!
How to Fold:
- âTake a semi-circle of dough
- âFold one corner to the center
- âFold the other corner over it
- âYou get a cone shape!
- âPut filling inside
- âSeal the top with water
